Funded by the towns of Waitsfield, Warren, Fayston and Moretown, MRVRD received 17 grant applications seeking a total of $79,377 in funding requests. With careful consideration for the best use of its limited funds and to spread support among as many worthy organizations as possible, MRVRD will spend $69,900 on grants in 2026, up from $55,298 awarded in 2025, a 27% increase. With four towns instead of three we have more funds to extend to our community. This year we fully or partially funded all 17 grant requests in addition to budgeting $4,000 for swim lessons for first and second graders in our member towns.
Mad River Park is owned and operated by MRVRD and we rely on volunteers to keep it beautiful and safe. Please join us for a clean up day, remember: no dogs allowed. Helping is a great way to support our volunteer coaches. Free refreshments! With questions contact laura@mrvrd.org.
At our May Board meeting we will continue to focus on our 2026-2031 Strategic Plan. Board members have been meeting in small groups to discuss specific focus areas.

Help clean up our beautiful Valley! For the fourth consecutive year the Mad River Valley’s Green Up Committees are collaborating under the banner of the Green Valley Rally on Vermont’s annual Green Up Day. It will take place at the Mad River Valley Welcome Center (at the corner of Routes 100 and 17) from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. People can stop by to pick up Green Up bags, morning snacks, and roadside assignments. People will also have the chance to learn more about our partnering organizations such as the Friends of the Mad River, stewardMRV, Mad River Bear Inititative, the Mad River Valley Chamber of Commerce, the Mad River Riders, the Mad River Path, valley conservation and knotweed eradication programs, and other stewardship organizations. Plus a bottle drive to benefit MRV Interfaith Council.
